(\u201cEPH\u201d or the&nbsp;\u201cGroup\u201d) totalled EUR&nbsp;37.1 billion (compared to EUR&nbsp;19.0 billion in&nbsp;2021). EBITDA reached EUR&nbsp;4.3 billion (compared to EUR&nbsp;2.3 billion in&nbsp;2021), which represents an EBITDA margin of&nbsp;11.7% (a&nbsp;decrease from 12,1% EBITDA margin in&nbsp;2022). The&nbsp;Group will pay to the&nbsp;European public budgets over EUR&nbsp;2.2 billion in&nbsp;2022 corporate income tax and&nbsp;for emission allowances related to 2022 consumption. In&nbsp;the&nbsp;domicile of&nbsp;EPH, Czech Republic, total corporate income tax and&nbsp;emission allowances payments for 2022 will be around CZK 10 billion. <\/strong><strong>The above figures exclude the&nbsp;results of&nbsp;LEAG and&nbsp;Slovensk\u00e9 elektr\u00e1rne (\u201cSE\u201d), in&nbsp;which EPH holds significant equity interests but which are not included in&nbsp;the&nbsp;consolidated scope. <\/strong><strong>The improved financial performance was achieved partly due to the&nbsp;exceptional situation in&nbsp;the&nbsp;European energy market, but also due to the&nbsp;systematic growth of&nbsp;EPH, both through acquisitions and&nbsp;its&nbsp;own development.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Presented financial results are accompanied by the&nbsp;following operational indicators &#8211; the&nbsp;Group as a&nbsp;consolidated entity generated:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Generated 37 TWh of&nbsp;electricity (exceeded 100 TWh including LEAG and&nbsp;SE)\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Transported 256 TWh of&nbsp;gas and&nbsp;consumed 46.9 TWh of&nbsp;gas for electricity generation purposes (most of&nbsp;which is in&nbsp;Italy and&nbsp;the&nbsp;UK)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Operated flexible gas storage capacity of&nbsp;64.2 TWh located in&nbsp;Slovakia, Germany, the&nbsp;Czech Republic and&nbsp;the&nbsp;UK\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Distributed 48.3 TWh of&nbsp;natural gas and&nbsp;6.3 TWh of&nbsp;electricity\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Produced and&nbsp;delivered to customers 7.9 PJ&nbsp;of&nbsp;thermal energy<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>We deeply regret the&nbsp;stress on the&nbsp;energy markets and<\/em><em> more importantly its&nbsp;root causes<\/em>,\u201d said <strong>Daniel K\u0159et\u00ednsk\u00fd<\/strong>, <strong>CEO and&nbsp;majority owner of&nbsp;EPH<\/strong>. \u201c<em>However, we are proud that we were able to react flexibly and&nbsp;mobilise all resources and&nbsp;efforts to meet the&nbsp;rapidly evolving needs of&nbsp;our customers in&nbsp;a&nbsp;very challenging environment.
