EP UK Investments Ltd (EP UKI) finalized today the purchase of assets in Northern Ireland – two operational thermal power plants and one operational energy storage facility – from The AES Corporation (AES).<\/p>\n
The acquisition of the assets was announced in April this year and was subject to regulatory approval by the European Commission.<\/p>\n
According to the terms of the deal, AES transferred to EP UKI its interest in the 708 MW Ballylumford gas-fired power plant and in the 701 MW Kilroot coal- and oil-fired power plant, as well as the 10 MW Kilroot Energy Storage facility.<\/p>\n
