(EPPE) and&nbsp;Status Power Invest Kft. (a&nbsp;company controlled by the&nbsp;Hungarian investor L\u0151rinc M\u00e9sz\u00e1ros), today announced the&nbsp;signing of&nbsp;a&nbsp;contract for the&nbsp;sale of&nbsp;the&nbsp;72.6 percent stake in&nbsp;the&nbsp;Hungarian electricity producer M\u00e1trai Eromu Zrt. (M\u00e1tra) held by RWE Power and&nbsp;EnBW.<\/p>\n<p>Buyer\u00b4s joint venture will have a&nbsp;50-50 ownership split. RWE Power and&nbsp;EnBW own 50.9 percent and&nbsp;21.7 percent of&nbsp;M\u00e1tra, respectively. EPPE is a&nbsp;wholly owned subsidiary of&nbsp;Energetick\u00fd a&nbsp;pr\u016fmyslov\u00fd holding (EPH).<\/p>\n<p>M\u00e1tra is the&nbsp;second largest electricity generator in&nbsp;Hungary with approx. 960&nbsp;MW installed capacity across lignite, biomass, photovoltaics, and&nbsp;gas. M\u00e1tra owns and&nbsp;operates two open pit mines, Visonta and&nbsp;Bukkabrany, located in&nbsp;the&nbsp;vicinity of&nbsp;the&nbsp;plant.<\/p>\n<p>The parties to the&nbsp;agreement have agreed not to disclose the&nbsp;price or any other details about the&nbsp;transaction. The&nbsp;transaction is subject to the&nbsp;approval of&nbsp;the&nbsp;relevant competition authorities as well as the&nbsp;Hungarian energy authority.
